Today at UP we held a special service to celebrate Chanukah and to understand the ‘Lightness of Being.’ Led by Rabbi Zvi Gefen and our Sales Director Eddie Edwards, we celebrated through stories and songs. Rabbi Gefen described how the holiday is a time of personal reflection and one which is consumed by light, brightness and radiance. The lighting of the menorah candles symbolises the recognition and desire for a better world, and that we should all strive to become more virtuous beings. To finish off the special celebration, our staff sampled some tasty traditional food of the holiday, such as fresh potato latke and jelly-filled doughnuts. We would like to thank Rabbi Zvi Gefen for performing this ceremony and teaching us about the meaning of Chanukah.
