After 18 months of hard work and graft, Ultimate Products are pleased to announce the opening of a second mill site, Heron Mill. Staying close to our roots, the mill is located in Oldham near to our current site, and will be used primarily as a warehousing facility, complementing our current procedures and providing much-needed extra space.
Renovating Heron Mill shows our commitment to staying local, adding real value to the area by restoring such an impressive building. The site had become very run down prior to work starting, but after over £1 million of investment, it now benefits from new roofing and flooring, as well as energy-efficient LED sensor lights and UPVC windows.
The work that we carried out has been praised by Oldham Council for bringing additional jobs to the area, as well as improving the local community by developing a run-down site. The mill will create 80–100 new employment opportunities initially, with this number likely to increase as we grow further. We have also been building links with nearby schools, to expand our apprenticeship scheme, as well as to encourage cohesion with our neighborhood.
