Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget

Today at UP we held our centenary remembrance service in honour of the 888,246 British and Commonwealth men who served and lost their lives during the First World War. Led by our Sales Director Eddie Edwards, we paid our respects with carefully selected readings from classic World War I poetry, including ‘Flanders Fields’ by John McRae and ‘Dulce et Decorum est’ by Wilfred Owen. We would like to thank the incredibly talented Oldham Music Centre Youth Brass Band for treating us to stunning performances of the ‘Last Post’ and ‘Once Crimson Poppies Bloomed’, amongst others. All of this was overseen by our resident Tommy, from the ‘There But Not There’ remembrance charity, providing us all with a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made 100 years ago. Lest we forget.
