UP gave me the opportunity to start my career without initially having the industry experience. From day one on the Graduate Development Scheme as a Graduate Trainee Assistant Buyer, the company showed faith in me and allowed me to grow and achieve my goals; through hard work and dedication, I am now a Senior Buyer, fully responsible for the company’s Housewares division.
The thing I love the most about UP is that there are so many opportunities here and a job role can be found for everyone. I started as a Marketing and Brand Assistant in the Design department before realising that I wanted to become a Creative Artworker; luckily, there’s a real focus from management on helping you to achieve your goals. I’ve developed strong working relationships and friendships in my time and I am excited for what my future at the company will bring.
I began my UP journey on the Graduate Development Scheme 5 years ago as an entry-level Sales Merchandiser; gradually, I worked my way up experiencing a variety of roles within my department until I became Merchandise Manager and Head of Online. I’ve gained a comprehensive understanding of the business and invaluable transferrable skills over the years that support me in my day-to-day role. I’ve loved getting to work with such a wide variety of people.
